Art in full bloom over the Country
Sometimes, one has the impression that art is only practiced in cities and large centres. Or course, this is certainly not true. All over the country there are hundreds of working artists with exceptional talents. Often, however, they lack opportunities to have their work exhibited and appreciated by a broader public. Fortunately, over the past decade or two, many of the old local art societies were revived and other new ones established. SANAVA, the umbrella body of these local societies happily decided to organize a special exhibition of selected works by members of its branches and affiliated organisations to mirror the bustling and vibrancy of the various local art scenes.
This special and very exciting exhibition is hosted by the Association of Arts Pretoria. It is opened by Anton Loubser, National President of SANAVA, on Sunday 18 January 2008 at 17:30 for 18:00 in the Mackie Street art gallery of the Association and runs until 4 February 2009.

Ek wil net noem dat ek vir kunstenaars wat belangstel 'n kursus in gietwerk kan reel. Daar was die mooiste en interessantste beelde met 'n plastiese medium vervaardig op uitstalling by UNISA in Pretoria. Die dosent is gewillig om te kom as ons 'n groep van minimum tien bymekaar kan bring. Hoe meer hoe goedkoper....Groete.

Ek was by hom en het ook die voorreg gehad om by Diane Victor te teken,Ek moet jou eerlik se die vrou se klas was wonderlik Indien dit 'n probleem is is ek bereid om so 'n klas aan te bied Dit is nou as daar 'n plek om dit te doen en belangstelling is. To all who made the Opening of our Exhibition possible, a big thank you
I think the exhibition went well and we had so many wonderful comments, sales and interest.
Liquor Town, SANAVA, The National Lotteries Board, Pensao Geust House , Nelspruit Mica and Mbombela Local Municipality... thank you for your support. Special thanks also goes to Judith Mason for her support and selecting works from quite a big number of entries.
